Breaking News!!: Fenner, CA: Semi truck rollover accident along westbound Interstate 40.

ZachNews has learned that there is a semi truck rollover accident along westbound Interstate 40 just before Route 66 (Exit 107) in Fenner, California.

Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station #32 is on scene along with the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol is reporting an ambulance is being requested, a code #1141, but the driver of the semi truck is out of semi truck.

At least 150 feet of guardrail is damage.

Active Towing is being called to the semi truck rollover accident.

As of 9:23pm PT, no injuries reported and fire department crews are leaving, but clean up and repair work continues and tow crews are working to remove semi truck.

This is the second semi truck rollover accident today along Interstate 40.

A semi truck rollover accident occurred along eastbound Interstate 40 just pass the Manzanita Wash Bridge in Needles, California at around 5:00am PT.

ZachNews has learned that the driver is it was uninsured and load that that the semi truck was caring less produce from Walmart.

ZachNews has also learned hazmat cleanup crews is on scene to clean up diesel spill that’s in the center divider area.

As of 12:33pm PT, crews from Calttans and from Active Towing continues to clean up the mess and wreckage from the accident.

The left lane of eastbound Interstate 40 remains closed for clean up.

There are reports of a train derailment that occurred at U.S. Route 95 just west of Needles, California.

The train derailment after 3:00pm PT on Friday, July 13th, 2018.

These pictures from the Nevada Department of Transportation shows the train derailment.

At least 15 train cars derailed off the track and reportedly onto the road.

The train, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe double stack container freight train, wasn’t carrying hazardous materials.

There are no reports of anybody hurt or killed related to the  train derailment.

According to Caltrans District 8, clean up crews are having a tough time getting to the derailment because of weather.

U.S. Route 95 had earlier flooding from passing storms.

According to San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert Lovingood and Caltrans District 8, U.S. Route 95 is closed from Nevada State Line (Nevada State Route 163) to Interstate 40.

Caltrans District 8 posted the U.S. Route 95 closure area on their website map website.

From California, motorists are being advised to head east along Nevada State Route 163 to Needles Highway or Arizona State Route 95 south to Interstate 40 west get around the closure.

From Nevada, motorists are being advised to head east along Interstate 40 to Needles Highway or Arizona State Route 95 north to Nevada State Route 163 west to get around the closure.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the train derailment.

The candlelight vigil started at 7:30pm PT on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 at River Edge Golf Course, located at 144 Marina Drive, in Needles, California.

The community of Needles, California is mourning the loss of 22 year old Fidel Connacher, who was struck by a train west of Needles, California on Friday, June 29th, 2018.

Fidel Connacher, a resident of Needles, California, is being described by family and friends as an amazing friend, friendly to people, and was great at golf as a member of the Needles High School Golf Team.

ZachNews received a statement issued by Needles City Manager Rick Daniels on the loss of Fidel Connacher.

“The City of Needles is saddened to hear of the loss of Fidel Connacher. Fidel was a valuable member of the Rivers Edge Golf Course family. Fidel was the first person to assist golf patrons with their bags and carts. He welcomed them with his broad smile and engaging personality. He brightened every room he entered. He will be missed as a friend and colleague. Fidel was a success story; beginning as an intern, progressing to part-time work, and was scheduled to begin this upcoming month in a full time position assisting in the management of the pro shop. He was being trained and groomed to eventually assume golf shop operations and outside services at Rivers Edge. We all share in his loss and extend our prayers and heartfelt condolences to his family. Rick Daniels“.

Family member Selina Lamas posted on Facebook a message on the loss of Fidel Connacher saying, “Woke up to terrible news today! My heart hurts. You were very loved Fidel, especially by my family. I have such great memories of you. I remember when you would come over and we would have the best time playing Nintendo. Or that one time you found out that my sister’s and I had never been to Buffalo Wild Wings, so you decided to take us out to eat there. I also remember the christmas presents you got for my sister’s and I. You were so loving and caring for others. You had such a beautiful heart! You will forever be missed Fidel!”

ZachNews has just received the identity of the pedestrian killed in a fatal pedestrian versus train collision that occurred west of Needles, California on Friday, June 29th, 2018.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Division, the person has been identified as 22 year old Fidel Connacher, resident of Needles, California.

 

In the press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Division posted Saturday, “On 06/29/2018, a 911 call was received at 4:37 PM from the BNSF Railroad reporting a man was struck by a train on the tracks 1/2 miles east of Arrowhead Junction west of Needles. Emergency personnel responded to find Fidel Connacher, a 22 year old resident of Needles, dead at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.

News Update!!: Needles, CA: Pedestrian versus train collision confirmed fatal.

The California Highway Patrol has confirmed to ZachNews that a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a train occurred west of Needles, California.

The collision occurred at around 4:43pm PT on Friday, June 29th, 2018 along the railroad tracks, a quarter of a mile east of U.S. Highway 95 near Goffs Road.

San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the collision scene along with the California Highway Patrol.

According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Adelmann, the train was a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train that was carrying cargo freight and was traveling eastbound.

The cargo freight train blocked the railroad cross along U.S. Highway 95.

U.S. Highway 95 from Interstate 40 to Nevada State Route 163 and a “SigAlert” was issued.

According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Adelmann, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Division responded to the scene and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fatal collision.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Adelmann also tells ZachNews that U.S. Highway 95 between Interstate 40 and Nevada State Route 163 is being reopened.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was hit by a train along U.S. Highway 95 near Goffs Road west of Needles, California.

The collision occurred at around 4:43pm PT on Friday, June 29th, 2018.

Reports from the California Highway Patrol that the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Division have been called.

Reports from the California Highway Patrol that the train, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train, is blocking U.S. Highway 95.

U.S. Highway 95 is closed from Interstate 40 to Nevada State Route 163.

The California Highway Patrol are advising motorists to head east along Interstate 40 to Needles Highway north to Nevada State Route 163 west to get around the closure.

The Nevada Highway Patrol Motorists are advising motorists to head east along Nevada State Route 163 to Needles Highway south to Interstate 40 west get around the closure.

All lanes of southbound Interstate 15 are slowly reopening after multiple vehicle crash occurred during foggy conditions in the Cajon Pass, California.

The crash occurred after 11:15am PT on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018.

At least 30 vehicles were involved in the crash and heavy fog was the area contributing to additional collisions.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department issuing a 3 alarm, major casualty incident between Oak Hills and Highway 138, and multiple resources responding into the area, including 10 fire engines and 14 ambulances have responded to the crash.

Video by Darren Corrigan showed the crash aftermath as some drivers and passengers got out of their cars and stood on the hillside, worried their cars might be struck again.

I heard a couple of the first accidents. I just focused on not being pushed into anybody so I kind of moved over to the left lane as I was being hit,” Darren Corrigan told KNBC 4 News.

NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 reports that a brother and sister were heading to their graduation ceremony got caught in the crash mess.

Fisher and his sister, Daisha, were heading to their graduation ceremony at Mojave High School in San Bernardino, California when they were hit.

I was in the front seat, I seen the whole thing. I’m a little banged up,” D’Sean Fisher told KNBC 4 News.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, at least 17 people were  injured and were medically treated by firefighters and paramedics.

Officials with the San Bernardino County Fire Department initially stated in the tweet on their official twitter page (Seen Above) that paramedics were assessing 27 individuals.

Minutes later, officials with the San Bernardino County Fire Department updated the number of injured to 17, saying many involved declined treatment.

Among the 17 people injured, at least 2 people had moderate injuries and required immediate medical treatment, and 19 people had minor injuries.

There were also a numerous drivers and occupants have declined treatment.

Southbound Interstate 15 was closed from Ranchero Road and traffic was backed up to Main Street in Hesperia, California.

As of 1:29pm PT, the California Highway Patrol reports that all lanes are being reopened but there is lots of heavy traffic in the area.

NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 reports that the California Highway Patrol escorted the Fishers to their graduation, and the ceremony was delayed for them.

Authorities said that this crash could have been avoided if everybody had just slowed down and drive with caution during foggy conditions where visibility are extremely low.
