Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows the scattered thunderstorms that were near Needles, California and Mohave Valley, Arizona has lost most strength died off and has moved out of the area.

** As of 12:40pm PT on Saturday, July 21st, 2018: **

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows the scattered thunderstorms were spotted east of Needles, California, Mohave Valley, Arizona, and near Lake Havasu City, Arizona has lost most strength, mostly producing light rain in most areas, but there are still spotty moderate to heavy rain falling northeast of Golden Shores, Arizona and in the Kingman, Arizona area.

The storms appear to be moving northwest.

Pictures from ZachNews shows the scattered thunderstorms moving north to northwest across the area.

The main portion of the scattered thunderstorms, moderate to heavy rainfall and possible lightning, appears to be staying to the east of the Needles, California area and appears to be heading moving towards communities near the mountains, which includes Oatman, Arizona.

Light rain is falling in the Needles, California area.

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows scattered thunderstorms were spotted east of Needles, California, Mohave Valley, Arizona, and near Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The scattered thunderstorms appear to be moving northwest.

Use caution if driving along in the area of the scattered thunderstorms, and beware of flooded roadways in the area of the thunderstorms.

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows scattered thunderstorms near Golden Shores, Arizona have died off and appear to become light rain producing.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page what a difference an hour makes! Most storms have really died off across the region in the last hour. Still monitoring a few areas, but the likelihood of a repeat of last evening is not good.

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows scattered thunderstorms east of Golden Shores, Arizona and south of Yucca, Arizona.

The scattered thunderstorms appears to be losing strength but still shows to have moderate to heavy rain falling and possible lightning.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that they’re monitoring storms through the evening for much of the #LasVegas Valley. Storm activity is expected to increase near Caliente, Needles and Yucca. Heavy rain & flooding is the main concern. Some storms may produce small hail.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a Flash Flood Warning issued for parts of #MohaveCounty including Yucca, Arizona as well as parts of Interstate 40 between mile markers 16 and 36.

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows thunderstorms have cleared the Needles, California and Lake Havasu City, Arizona areas.

Be on watch throughout the day and evening just in case of any more scattered thunderstorms.

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows more scattered thunderstorms south and southeast of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The scattered thunderstorms are moving west to southwest.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a cluster of showers and storms are approaching the 29 Palms, Yucca Vally, and Joshua Tree. These are expected to arrive between 2 am and 230 am. Expect brief heavy rain and wind gusts between 35-45 mph.

Blowing dust blow into Needles, California as flashes of lightning lighted up the clouds surrounding the community.

These scattered thunderstorms are seen far south of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Parker, Arizona.

The scattered thunderstorms are moving west to southwest.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that strong winds are likely to push west across San Bernardino County over the next 1-2 hours. Will likely impact SR-62, Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Valley with gusts to at least 45 MPH.

According to San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert Lovingood and Caltrans District 8, U.S. Route 95, between Nevada State Line and Interstate 40, Needles, California, is closed due to earlier flooding and now a train derailment. Unknown duration for recovery and investigation.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a Flash Flood Warning issued for central San Bernardino County, California. One inch of rain has already fallen, and flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in areas such as Ludow, California and Amboy, California along Interstate 40.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a Flash Flood Warning issued for parts of San Bernardino County, California. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area with up to one inch already fallen. Flash flooding should commence shortly. Impacted areas include parts of U.S. Route 95 and Interstate 40.

According to Caltrans District 8, northbound U.S. Route 95 at Interstate 40, west of Needles, California, is open.

** As of 10:37pm PT on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018: **

According to Caltrans District 8, northbound U.S. Route 95 at Interstate 40, west of Needles, California, is closed because of flooding.

At this moment, the duration of the closure  is unknown.

Motorists are told to visit: http://QuickMap.dot.ca.gov for traffic updates.

** As of 10:10pm PT on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018: **

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows all of the thunderstorms that were in the Mohave Valley, Arizona; Golden Shores, Arizona; and Needles, California area have all lost strength, dissipated and moved out of the area. Some light rain fall remains southeast of Yucca, Arizona.

According to the Yucca Fire District, Alamo is now open from I-40 to La Cieniga. North of that is a mess. La Cieniga itself sustained very little damage from Cow Creek. Santa Fe Ranch is open from I-40 to Butch Cassidy. Butch Cassidy to Alamo is passable with care. Crystal Springs clear from Butch Cassidy to Jesse James. Roy Rodgers needs work from South of Cicio to Bronco. Carmen has washed that have run heavily but is passable with caution. Apache has washed that have run at McKenzie Wash and Flat Too Wash. Frontage Road is clear and passable with little washout. As always, please use caution when traveling after a storm. Washes may run after the rain has cleared. Please remember to Turn Around Don’t Drown.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, at about 2:15pm MST Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue received a call of multiple vehicles that had become stranded in washes along Alamo Road between mile post 3 to mile post 5. The occupants of the vehicles were able to self-rescue while rescuers were responding to the area. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue would like to encourage people to use extreme caution around running water – TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!

According to the City of Twentynine Palms, Adobe Road is open again. Please proceed with caution. The gates at Ocotillo and Split Rock remain closed. The gates at Tamarisk, Joe Davis, Bagdad and Bullion Mountain Road are also closed until tomorrow morning. Mesquite Springs Road between Sunnyslope and El Paseo and Larrea Avenue are flooded as well.

According to the City of Twentynine Palms, rain has caused some major flooding in the City. Adobe Road between Civic Center Drive and Gorgonio is down to one lane northbound and both lanes are closed heading southbound. The gates at Ocotillo and SplitRock are closed due to the overflow of water in the Wash. Please use caution when driving.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that if you’re boating on Lake Havasu, be prepared for a potential wind shift! South winds may become northeast at 25MPH as that storm to the north moves away.

A small storm system has popped up along U.S. Highway 95 just south of Needles, California.

The thunderstorm appears to be moving on the weather radar west to southwest.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page the Haboob that is moving across central Mohave County, Arizona has moved across Kingman, Arizona is currently moving across portions of U.S. Route 93 near Dolan Springs, Arizona. This wall of dust may make it all the way to Las Vegas, Nevada later this evening shortly after sunset.

Please use caution if driving in the Haboob area. Remember to never stop on a roadway during a dust storm or Haboob. Please safely pull your vehicle off the road as far as possible if you see dust approaching the road. Turn off your vehicle ‘s lights and take your foot off the brake after placing it in park. Stay there until the dust storm has passed.

People in the the path of the Haboob remember to put a mask over your nose and mouth. If you have a respirator or mask designed to filter out small particulates, put it on immediately. Protect your eyes from the dust an protect yourself from flying objects blowing around in the dust storm or Haboob. Look for shelter, get inside and wait out the dust storm or Haboob.

Needles, CA: Community welcomes and shows support for the Run For The Wall 2018.

The community of Needles, California welcomed and showed their support for the Run For The Wall 2018 on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018.

Hundreds of motorcycle riders were participating in the 30th Annual Run For The Wall event, this annual journey across America recognizes the sacrifices and contributions made by all veterans who have served our nation.

The organization promotes healing among all veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (P.O.W./M.I.A.), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (K.I.A.) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world.

Veterans of recent wars, those currently on Active Duty, Non-Veteran Supporters, and Patriots come together and trek across America ending on Memorial Day in Washington, District of Columbia at the Vietnam Memorial Wall where they will honor those who can’t make the ride, the fallen, the disabled and the still missing.

There are 3 routes making up this year’s Run For The Wall, the Southern Route which rides across the lower states along interstate 10 and the Midway Route and Central Route who both ride along Interstate 40 heading east until they split in New Mexico, all routes reportedly left from Ontario, California earlier that morning.

Well the Midway Route ride by Needles, California for lunch in Kingman, Arizona, the Central Route makes their stop in Needles, California.

ZachNews on Facebook was broadcasting live on Facebook as the Central Route arrived into Downtown Needles, California for a welcoming event put on by the community.

A long line of motorcycles from the Central Route began arriving along Front Street as people waved at the greeted by American flags waving and people shouting out “Thank You!” and “God Bless America!” as they went by with music played by members of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe.

Written messages on colored American flags by students from Vista Colorado Elementary School greeted motorcycle riders as they seat down at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California to eat a delicious taco lunch provided by 19th Hole Bar and Grill and delicious cold ice cream served by The Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.).

According to the Needles Chamber of Commerce, 500 veterans enjoyed the lunch served by the crew at 19th Hole Bar and Grill, who prepared 1500 tacos for the veterans.

As the motorcycle riders eat and rested, organizers along with city and county representative prepare to speak during presentations.

The welcoming event began with an opening prayer and Tatyana Medrano singing the National Anthem.

A presentation was held by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 404 Commander George DeLeon for Stanley D. Jump, World War II Veteran who joined the United States Navy in December 1st, 1944 and received the American Area Medal Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Medal Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal Ribbon.

A medals shadow box was presented to the family of Stanley D. Jump, which included daughter Wendy Puccio and granddaughter Lacy Hedrick, followed by an honor guard gun salute.

Proclamations were done afterwards by City of Needles Mayor Dr. Edward T. Paget, Phil LeJeune from 1st District San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert Lovingood’s Office, and Isis Fuentes from California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte’s Office.

Plaques were headed out and thanks were presented by the Run For The Wall followed by drill demonstration by Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students from Mohave High School in Bullhead City, Arizona.

As the event came to a close and people said good bye to all of the motorcycle riders at Santa Fe Park, a small group of people holding American flags stand along the Five Mile Road overpass along eastbound Interstate 40 await the line of motorcycles to come by.

ZachNews on Facebook was broadcasting live on Facebook from the Five Mile Road overpass as everybody awaited the motorcycle riders.

As they approached the Five Mile Road overpass along eastbound interstate 40, vehicles including semi trucks honked their horns as people saluted and waved the American flags at the long line of motorcycle riders.

With many thanks and safe travels, the motorcycle riders with the Central Route department Needles, California and ended into Mohave County, Arizona heading to their next stop for the night in Williams, Arizona.

Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Semi truck overturns along westbound Interstate 40 and crashes onto southbound East Broadway.

Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Semi truck overturns along westbound Interstate 40 and crashes onto southbound East Broadway.

ZachNews has learned of a semi truck that has overturned along westbound Interstate 40 and crashes onto East Broadway in Needles, California.

ZachNews was broadcasting live on Facebook as he arrived to the crash which occurred at around 3:17am PT on Thursday, April 12th, 2018.

These are pictures taken by ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez of the cab of the semi truck along southbound East Broadway and along westbound Interstate 40, guard rail damage seen along the left side of westbound Interstate 40 and what appears to be another trailer along Interstate 40.

The California Highway Patrol tells ZachNews that the semi truck left the interstate, entered the center dirt meridian, and the front of the semi truck collided through the metal guard rail into the dirt meridian where the trailer then rollover onto its left side along the overpass above East Broadway.

The semi truck and front trailer continued into the center dirt meridian between the eastbound and westbound Interstate 40 and continued down the embankment onto East Broadway where the cab of the semi truck and trailer landed along southbound East Broadway.

Earlier, Kevin Brown sent in this picture into ZachNews of the other trailer from a semi truck as well as San Bernardino County Fire Department on scene.

Kevin Brown tells ZachNews that that a person was being put in the ambulance.

Well on the way over to the crash, an Baker Emergency Medical Service ambulance was seen with San Bernardino County Fire Department at the helipad next to Colorado River Medical Center where a medical helicopter was taking off.

The California Highway Patrol confirms that the driver of the semi truck had major injuries in the crash and was flown by medical helicopter from the helipad at Colorado River Medical Center to University Medical Center of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The left lane of westbound Interstate 40 and the right lane of East Broadway is closed for clean up.

Motorists are getting by the crash on the right lane of westbound Interstate 40 and on the left lane of East Broadway, but use caution in the area of the crash.

California Highway Patrol initially reporting at the accident was near Needles Highway, but was changed to East Broadway.
