A man suspected of shooting of a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy in the chest on Thursday, March 16th, 2017 in Hesperia, California has been arrested.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has identified the suspect who was arrested as 37 year old Kenneth Scott Welch from Redlands, California.

Kenneth Scott Welch was found at his home on Colton Avenue in Redlands, California and taken into police custody without incident,

Deputies responded to a robbery at 12:45am PT near a Chevron Gas Station located on Ranchero Road and Escondido Avenue.

The deputy confronted a robbery suspect at the gas station and tried to pepper-spray the man, who then brandished a gun and opened fire.

The deputy has been identified by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as Pat Higgins, who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said that the deputy’s bulletproof vest likely saved his life.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, an armed robber shot at a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputy in the chest on Thursday, March 16th, 2017 in Hesperia, California.

Deputies responded to a robbery at 12:45am PT near a Chevron Gas Station located on Ranchero Road and Escondido Avenue.

The deputy confronted a robbery suspect at the gas station and tried to pepper-spray the man, who then brandished a gun and opened fire,

The robber, captured on surveillance video, fled in a black Chrysler 200 with paper plates.

The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The deputy has been identified by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as Pat Higgins, who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said that the deputy’s bulletproof vest likely saved his life.

Another round of storms moved into San Bernardino County, California on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 and Monday, January 23rd, 2017 bring cold temperatures, lots of heavy rain, and lots of snow to the area.

At around 2:36pm PT on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez captured on camera the storms entering into the Victorville, California and Hesperia, California area.

At around 2:41pm PT on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017, ZachNews heard the call of a vehicle stuck in a wash with 2 people inside the vehicle in the Cajon Pass area near Cajon Boulevard at Swarthout Canyon Road in Keenbrook, California.

NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 Journalist Mekahlo Medina captured on camera (Pictured Above) 2 people inside a blue truck surrounded by water.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team was called and when arrived, began rescue operations.

During the rescue operations, an additional engine for down stream spotter was request as the water in the wash continued to rise.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, rescue operations were complete with all victims rescued.

People were seen running to their vehicles as the heavy rain and cold winds continued into the evening.

Storms continued to move to the east across the high deser, but communities like Daggett, California; Newberry Springs, California; Ludlow, California; and Amboy, California had some of the sunshine breaking through the storm clouds.

Breaking News!!: Hesperia, CA: Police pursuit ends in Hesperia, California.

A police pursuit has just ended at Ranchero Road and Hasting Avenue in Hesperia, California.

ZachNews picked up the police pursuit over the police scanner at around 2:39am PT on Monday, November 30th, 2015.

Police scanner traffic reported that the police pursuit was going over 100 mph along Ranchero Road, and San Bernardino Police Department were in chase.

Police scanner communication reported that San Bernardino Police Department were in pursuit of a newer black Chevy pick up truck for a “Failure to Yield” traffic stop in San Bernardino, California along northbound Interstate 15.

Later on in the police pursuit, police scanner communication reported authorities at ready near Interstate 15 at both Ranchero Road and Main Street, and as the police pursuit speed eastbound along Ranchero Road, spike strips were set up along Ranchero Road near Cottonwood Avenue.

The driver in the police pursuit is in police custody after coming to an end at Ranchero Road and Hasting Avenue.
