Breaking News!!: Downtown Needles, CA: Identification on man found dead behind El Garces Train Depot confirmed.

ZachNews has confirmed information, including an age and name, of the man who was found dead behind the El Garces Train Depot in Downtown Needles, California on Monday, July 6th, 2015.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Office, the man is identified as 45 year old Curt Chavez, a transient.

ZachNews has also learned from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Office that the time of death was at 19;03, and the cause of death is still pending and can take weeks to months for results.

ZachNews has learned from employees at the Needles Area Transit Office that they have been in contact with the man’s family in Kingman, Arizona and are working to return his personal belongings that were left behind went he was taken away.

The Needles Area Transit Office, which is their new office location, is just around the corner from where the man’s body was located.

ZachNews is working on getting more details and if the family is needing help in saying good bye to Curt Chavez.

The man was found dead behind the El Garces Train Depot which is located on the 900 block of Front Street in Downtown Needles, California at 7:03pm PT on Monday, July 6th, 2015.

On Tuesday, July 7th, 2015, ZachNews got a message from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Office’s Cindy Bachman regarding the man found dead behind the El Garces Train Depot.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Office’s Cindy Bachman, “On Monday, July 6, 2015 at 7:03 p.m. deputies were called to the location, along with medical aid and found an adult male deceased. The call indicates no sign of foul play. A Coroner Investigator responded and the Coroner will determine the cause of death.”

The dead body was found along the platform area behind the El Garces Train Depot located on the 900 block of Front Street in Downtown Needles, California.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez arrived to the west side parking lot of the El Garces Train Depot where at least 2 San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department vehicles and a San Bernardino County Fire Department engine was there.

At least 2 San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and 3 San Bernardino County Fire Department Firefighters where seen later standing around the body which was covered up with a yellow tarp and when partly uncovered, the person was wearing light blue jeans and possibly no shirt.

The west side platform area behind the El Garces Train Depot as well as part of the parking lot near H Street and Front Street was closed as the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department wait for the uncovered body to be picked up and move from the area.

ZachNews went back to the scene later that evening to get any more information and as I went up to a asked the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy who was there, I notice that the body was no longer covered with the yellow tarp.

ZachNews asked the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy if there was any more information and why was the body uncovered, but the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy couldn’t say nothing and asked the me to clear the area.

At around 9:35pm PT on Monday, July 6th, 2015, a white van with the Dimond and Sons Needles Mortuary logo appeared from the area where the dead body was found and drove away from the El Garces Train Depot.

– A Hospitality Reception and Welcoming for Dignitaries will be held in Needles, California.

– A Centennial Dinner event at the Needles Elk’s Lodge 1608 put on by the Needles Chamber of Commerce with a historic look back on the community, guest speakers, and will be recognized and honored people and/or businesses from the community of Needles, California who have been instrumental in the support and growth of Needles, California over the last 100 years.

** Saturday, October 5th, 2013: **

A day of fun will be held around Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California with the following:

– A Farmer’s Market being put on by the Needles Downtown Business Alliance will be held at Santa Fe Park.

– A Needles Centennial Parade will be held along historic and world famous Route 66 and West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California to Santa Fe Park.

– A proclamation ceremony by City of Needles Mayor and a possible ceremony honoring local veterans immediately following the parade.

– Vendors, Food, Beer Garden, Contests, Historical Games, Bounce House, Olde Time Pictures, Bear and Mustache Competition, Western Gun Fights, Music, Entertainment, and Pumpkin Races will be held at Santa Fe Park.
