Zachery Longacre spoke during Public Appearances regarding putting trash cans at the Train Park, issues with Live Scan that some people are having, and speaking about a complaint by a concern parent in the Gates area of Needles, California regarding children in the street; no limit lights, no crosswalks and no sidewalks; and the concern parent asking for “Children At Play” signs in their residential neighborhood. Zachery Longacre said he thinks these signs should be in all our residential neighborhoods, especially after two recent incidents involving kids versus vehicles occurred in Needles, California, including an incident just hours before the Needles City Council Meeting tonight.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels spoke about the recent structure fire at a resident along C Street and two recent incidents involving kids versus vehicles occurred in Needles, California, including an incident just hours before the meeting tonight.

Needles City Council Member Shawn Gudmundson spoke about the two recent incidents involving kids versus vehicles occurred in Needles, California, including an incident just hours before the meeting tonight. He wants to have this concern address to make sure kids are safe, and want to see more patrols by law enforcement in the areas of school zones. 

Needles City Council Member Louise Evans:

Needles City Council Member Clayton Hazlewood spoke about parking and citizen discount at Jack Smith Memorial Park in Needles, California, and that it will be on the next Needles Park and Recreation agenda. Member Clayton Hazlewood then spoke about street repair along West Broadway, street lights on J Street, sidewalk street repair where the new sidewalk was placed recently on Bailey Avenue, and he ending the Special Committee of the Cannabis Tax Refund Program and would like to see the Cannabis Tax Refund Program on the next Needles City Council Meeting agenda for a vote. Member Clayton Hazlewood also said to get some trash cans at the Train Park. 

Needles City Council Member Tona Belt thanked the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Needles, California and Set Free Church for their work putting the Thanksgivings Dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Member Tona Belt then spoke about the upcoming Needles Holiday Fun Fair 2018 on Saturday in Downtown Needles, California. Member Tona Belt then spoke about her working on setting up a fresh fruit and vegetable stand so that people in our community can go and purchase fruit and vegetable.

**** Public Appearances: ****

Terry Campbell spoke during Public Appearances regarding the condition of Budweiser Road in Needles, California; it’s cracking really bad, and be placed on the budget as it’s needing to be crack sealed.

Shiva Johnson spoke during Public Appearances regarding trash along the fence line, under the Interstate 40 overpass (Along Needles Highway), and would like to see that area be one of the clean up projects.

Jerry Johnson spoke next during Public Appearances regarding the conditions along our on and off ramps from Interstate 40 and the City of Needles’ Beatification Project, cleaning up along our on and off ramps from Interstate 40, and maybe have that clean up work be part of the time by the inmate program. Jerry then spoke about the “L Street Revitalization Project”, rehabbing the landscape at the corner of West Broadway and L Street in Downtown Needles, California. Planting and watering being done mainly by community volunteers. 

Cheryl from The Healing Center spoke during Public Appearances that since marijuana became recreational, there have been people coming up to people in our parking lot trying to sell illegally marijuana from a  vehicle, and people are coming into our shop telling us about this, and that people are getting nervous about what is happening. Cheryl wanted to bring this to the City of Needles attention and what can be done about this problem. 

Zachary Longacre spoke during Public Appearances regarding the issue of free parking at Jack Smith Memorial Park in Needles, California, and suggested removing one roll of parking spots for truck trailer spots and paint a line through them, creating new car size parking spots.
