Needles, California: The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers in the Fort Mohave and Needles, California areas to plan ahead for an around-the-clock lane restriction on the State Route 95 Needles Bridge beginning Monday, Jan. 16.
Temporary traffic signals will be installed and activated on the bridge beginning from 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, until the end of construction in the spring:
The bridge will be reduced to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel.
Smokestack Avenue and River Road will be closed through the end of construction.
A vehicle-width restriction of 16 feet will be in effect.
The restrictions are needed for construction crews to safety complete the bridge rehabilitation project, which includes:
Installing a new concrete bridge deck overlay to the existing bridge surface.
Removing and replacing the pavement.
Reconstructing the approach slabs.
Replacing the bridge bearing pads and guardrail
ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around personnel and equipment while construction is underway.
