Newberry Springs, California: The California Highway Patrol has confirmed a fatality vehicle crash along westbound Interstate 40 just east of Fort Cady Road.
The incident was reported at 2:06 p.m. PT on Sunday, November 27th, 2022 involving black Nissan SUV that overturned into the center divider area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 2 occupies in vehicle, solo crash and “Fatality.”
As of 2:41 p.m. PT, the California Highway Patrol also reporting an airship has been called to the location; ETA 15 minutes.
As of 2:59 p.m. PT, California Highway Patrol conducting traffic break for helicopter.
As of 3:00 p.m. PT, a Mercy Air helicopter is showed on flight tracker over the location of the fatality crash.
As of 3:17 p.m. PT, Mercy Air has lifted off from location and California Highway Patrol has reopened lanes.
As of 3:47 p.m. PT, Mercy Air has landed at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
Motorists should drive with caution in the area of the incident.
