Barstow, California: Officers from the Barstow Police Department have arrested a local man for armed robbery at Motel 6 that occurred during the morning on Monday, October 17th, 2022.

According to a new earlier press release a few minutes ago from the Barstow Police Department, at approximately 8:52 a.m. PT, officers were dispatched to Motel 6 located on Yucca Avenue regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Officers and detectives immediately responded to the scene and learned that a male adult entered the motel, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded money from the deposits.

The clerk handed him the money and he fled south on Yucca Avenue on foot.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance video and observed the male suspect. A description of the suspect to include his clothing and later a picture of the suspect from the surveillance video was broadcasted to all units in the field.

Officers obtained additional CCTV video that depicts the robbery suspect running to an orange Toyota Prius and fleeing Westbound on Main Street.

At approximately 12:32 PM, Officer Miranda spotted the orange Toyota Prius travelling on West Main Street near L Avenue and conducted an investigative traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Roshud Pree, age 26, of Barstow. The officer observed that the driver matched the description of the robbery suspect.

The officer also observed inside the vehicle the distinct mask and all the clothing worn by the suspect during the robbery. The suspect currently lives at the Motel 6 on West Main Street.

Officers are writing a search warrant for the motel room to search for the gun and currency/deposits stolen from Motel 6 during the robbery.

Pree was arrested and booked for PC 211-Armed Robbery at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Barstow Jail.
