Sanders, Arizona: A crash involving a school bus, semi truck with trailer and van along eastbound Interstate 40 leaves a child dead and several people seriously hurt.

According to Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers responded to a crash on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 around 9:25 a.m. at milepost 328, not far from Sanders.
Investigators say traffic had slowed in the area after a rollover crash that morning.
The school bus was on a field trip and was reportedly slowing down when it was rear-ended by a semi truck.
As a result of the crash, the school bus was pushed into the van causing a 3 vehicles pile-up.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety, 19 people were inside the bus at the time of the crash, and one of those inside was a minor who died.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said that 4 other people inside the bus sustained serious injuries, but unclear if they were adults or children.
As of 2:18 p.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation reports eastbound Interstate 40 has reopened near Sanders, but there’s very heavy delay in the area, and drivers are asked to be patient as that clears.
As of 11:00 p.m. PT, the Arizona Department of Public Safety now saying 6 people were injured in the crash.
