Barstow, California: Officers from the Barstow Police Department have arrested a man from Apple Valley, California on Monday, August 22nd, 2022 for first degree robbery of an inhabited dwelling.
According to a press release from the Barstow Police Department, at approximately 10:22 P.M., Barstow Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Linda Lane regarding a burglary in progress. While in route to the burglary, Barstow Police Dispatch advised officers that the residents had the suspect detained.
Officers arrived at the residence and arrested Reginald Henderson, a 32 year-old resident of Apple Valley, in the back yard of the residence.
The investigation revealed Henderson entered the victim’s residence through an unlocked side door. Henderson was spotted by the victim in the kitchen, who immediately yelled for her husband.
The victim’s husband came to the victim’s aid, and saw that she was being physically assaulted by Henderson. An altercation ensued between Henderson and the victim’s husband who was able to retrieve a baseball bat. During the altercation, the victim’s husband struck Henderson with the bat. The residents were eventually able to detain Henderson.
The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and was released.
Henderson was airlifted to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center due to his injuries. Henderson was absentee booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department West Valley Detention Center for PC 212.5 – First Degree Robbery of an Inhabited Dwelling.
