Angelus Oaks, California: California State Route 38 is closed after storms caused mud and debris runoff causing several vehicles to get stuck on Sunday, July 31st, 2022.

According to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), State Route 38 was covered with mud and debris after heavy rain moved through the El Dorado Fire burn scar.

Several vehicles were trapped, but no injuries were reported.

More storms continue to moving over the area during the afternoon on Monday, August 1st, 2022.

According to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), State Route 38 is closed in both directions from Jenks Lake Road to Valley of the Falls Drive.

Remember during storms, drive carefully through the mountain and desert roadways, do not drive into flooded roadways and do not get close to flash flooded washes.
