Downtown Needles, California: A transient Woman from Texas was arrested on Monday, July 11th, 2022 for false impersonation and receiving known stolen property during a traffic stop on a vehicle.
According to a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, at approximately 5:19 p.m. PT, deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department contacted Crystal Cantwell during a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a stolen license plate.
Through investigation, Cantwell was found to have several stolen license plates in her possession along with numerous identification cards that were in other people’s names.
Crystal Cantwell was arrested for PC 529(A)(3) – False Impersonation and PC 496(A) – Receiving Known Stolen Property.
Cantwell was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
The investigation is ongoing and deputies are actively working the case in an attempt to locate additional victims.
