Needles, California: A large vegetation fire is burning along the Colorado River just north of the Palms River Resort.
The fire was reported at around 1:06 a.m. PT on Monday, July 4th, 2022 just north of 4170 Needles Highway.
Reports into dispatch from residents along the Colorado River on the Arizona side of the fire on the California side.
San Bernardino County Fire Station 32 initially responded to the scene.

As of 1:29 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 reports to Comm-Center that they’re in the area, see fire and trying to get access; large pile of vegetation.
As of 1:45 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 reports to Comm-Center that they have poor access from the California side.
As of 1:54 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 reports to Comm-Center an acre fire by the shoreline but have limited access and calling in more units including possibly boat.
As of 2:00 a.m. PT, Mohave Valley Fire Department has also responded as well as a bulldozer and a possible fire boat.
As of 3:30 a.m. PT, flames continue to burn vegetation stall a far away from any structures.
Firefighters have manage to get to the area of the large vegetation fire, and are putting water onto the flames that can be spotted from as far south as Needles High School in Needles, California and as far easy as Mohave Valley, Arizona and Willow Valley, Arizona from along Arizona State Route 95.
