Needles, California: A large vegetation fire burning along the Colorado River just north of the Palms River Resort has been put out.
The fire was reported at around 1:06 a.m. PT on Monday, July 4th, 2022 just north of 4170 Needles Highway.
Reports into dispatch from residents along the Colorado River on the Arizona side of the fire on the California side.
ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez responded to the scene, and capture on camera the large vegetation fire.
San Bernardino County Fire Station 32 initially responded to the scene then later by Mohave Valley Fire Department as well as a bulldozer and a possible fire boat.
Firefighters initially had to dealing with limited access problems trying to get their fire department trucks to the large vegetation fire but were able to late working for several hours to keep the vegetation fire.
By around 7:00 a.m. PT, firefighters and their equipment was able to put out the large vegetation fire, but crews will be checking the area in case of any flare ups.
No structures got damaged, and the cause of the large vegetation fire is under investigation but this area is known to have fireworks being set off.
