Lake Balboa, California: A suspect has been arrested in a shooting of an officer with the California Highway Patrol in Studio City, California.

According to the California Highway Patrol, just before 8:00 p.m. PT on Monday, June 13th, 2022, an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop along the 4500 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol officer was shot and was transported to the hospital.

Speaking at a news conference near the scene, a California Highway Patrol spokesman has only identified the male officer as a 27 year old who has been with the agency for slightly less than a year.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, 33-year-old Pejhmaun Iraj Khosroabadi was taken into police custody by officers after a bloodhound with the Los Angeles Police Department tracked him to a tent at a homeless encampment off Haskell Avenue in Lake Balboa, California.

As of Tuesday night, the California Highway Patrol officer remained hospitalized in critical, but stable, condition.

Khosroabadi is being held on a $3 million bail.
