Ludlow, California: A semi truck versus semi truck crash and fire has occurred along westbound Interstate 40 just west of Crucero Road.
The report came in at 1:56 a.m. PT on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022.
Firefighters, towing crews and Caltrans are all responding to the incident.
Reports that a semi truck hit another semi truck that was along the right hand side of the interstate, and the semi truck that was hit is on fire.
Reports that the #1 and #2 Lanes are closed and traffic is stopped.
As of 2:38 a.m. PT, semi truck that was hit is fully engulfed on fire.
As of 2:46 a.m. PT, call to continue fire crews to incident.
As of 2:54 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 4 reporting to Comm-Center two semi trucks traffic collision, one semi truck fully engulfed and has spread to the trailer; incident called “Ludlow I.C.”
As of 2:55 a.m. PT, Ludlow I.C. telling Comm-Center to request California Highway Patrol for a hard closure due to incident.
As of 2:57 a.m. PT, Ludlow I.C. reports no patients; cancelled Desert Ambulance.
As of 3:06 a.m. PT, Ludlow I.C. reports most of the fire is knocked down. On the scanner, Ludlow I.C. being told that no water tenders are responding.
As of 3:49 a.m. PT, reports the 3 different towing crews are at the incident working to clean up and clear the burnt damaged mess.
