Colorado River Tri-State: The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Wind Advisory in effect until 4:00 a.m. PST (5:00 a.m. MST) on Friday, March 11th, 2022 for the Lake Mohave, Fort Mohave and Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Arizona, San Bernardino County- Upper Colorado River Valley in California, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Nevada.
Communities include Including Lake Havasu City, Desert Hills, Topock, Bullhead City, Oatman, Mohave Valley, Needles, Hoover Dam, and Laughlin.
According to the National Weather Service, north winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected, and gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects as well as tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
In addition, the National Weather Service said dangerous boating conditions due to enhanced wave activity on areas lakes, and blowing dust and sand may reduce visibilities for brief periods of time.
According to the National Weather Service, precautionary/preparedness actions includes use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, and secure outdoor objects.
