Colorado River Tri-State: The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Lake Wind Advisory from Friday, January 14th, 2022 until 10:00 p.m. PT (11:00 p.m. MT) on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 for the Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave-Lake Mead National Recreation Area and San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley areas.

Communities include in Arizona, Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave and Lake Mead National Recreation Area; in California, San Bernardino County- Upper Colorado River Valley. and in Nevada, Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
According to the National Weather Service, north winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
In addition, the National Weather Service said strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft.
According to the National Weather Service, precautionary/preparedness actions includes boaters should use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes; strong winds over the open waters will make the lake water rough, and hazardous…and may result in high waves which could tip or swamp smaller craft; and for your personal safety, avoid the open waters and stay close to shore or around protected areas.
