Orange County, Florida: The Orange County Medical Examiner Chief has confirmed on Monday, January 10th, 2022 that an autopsy performed on Bob Saget found “no evidence of drug use or foul play” in his death.
According to the Joshua Stephany, MD, Chief Medical Examiner for Orange and Osceola Counties, “An autopsy was performed this morning on Robert Lane Saget. Mr. Saget is a 65-year-old male, who was found unresponsive in his hotel room. At this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play. The cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete.”
The 65 years old actor and comedian who played Danny Tanner in “Full House” and hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” is dead after being found inside a hotel room in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, January 9th, 2022, and was scheduled to go on tour in a number of Florida venues, including Orlando, Ponte Verde Beach, West Palm Beach and Dania Beach.
Joshua Stephany, MD, Chief Medical Examiner for Orange and Osceola Counties, added, “When the autopsy report has been finalized, a follow up press statement will be released. Our condolences go out to Mr. Saget’s loved ones during this difficult time.”
Officials from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orange County, Florida released 911 audio from after Bob Saget was found; the caller in the 911 call is heard describing him as “unresponsive, not breathing, with no pulse.”
Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orange County, Florida confirmed via Twitter, “Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. Robert Lane Saget a.k.a. Bob Saget was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 17, 1956.
Bob Saget was known for his long stand-up comedy career who was known and beloved in his role as Danny Tanner in the ABC sitcom “Full House” which earned him the nickname “America’s Dad.”
Bob Saget was the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” for much of the 1990’s bringing laughter to many as he showed funny videos that were submitted to win cash prizes.
In a statement, ABC Entertainment said, “We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our friend and colleague, Bob Saget, who will always be a member of the ABC family. Whether playing a loving father on ‘Full House’ or hosting the early years of ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’ with his signature wit and charm, Bob always knew how to connect with families through heart and humor. Our thoughts are with his family as we mourn the passing of such an incredibly gifted comedian and talent.”
