Breaking News: Homer, CA: Semi truck with trailer carrying paper rolls is on fire along westbound 40 just east of Water Road.

Homer, California: A semi truck with trailer carrying paper rolls is on fire along westbound 40 just east of Water Road.

The semi truck fire was reported at around 10:30 a.m. PT on Friday, January 7th, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol is reporting the semi truck is taking the #2 Lane, the semi truck is engulfed and the fire is starting near by brush.

Medical Engine 32 and Water Tender 32 from San Bernardino County Fire District are on scene, and report fully engulfed fire.

The California Highway Patrol is reporting the semi truck is carrying paper rolls.

As of 11:06 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 telling Comm-Center that they have a good knockdown on the fire, and to hold 18 unit at Station 32.

As of 11:11 a.m. PT, request for equipment to off load paper rolls which are completely burn to chassis.

As of 11:13 a.m. PT, A&G Towing has been called to respond to the incident.

As of 11:33 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 telling Comm-Center that fire is out, the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans is on scene, and we’ll remain here until equipment to off load paper rolls comes.
