Colorado River Tri-State: The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Wind Advisory in effect until 4:00 a.m. PST (5:00 a.m. MST) on Wednesday, December 14th, 2021 for portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California and southern Nevada.
Communities include Colorado City, Pipe Spring National Monument, Tuweep, Mt Trumbull, Western Grand Canyon, Lake Havasu City, Desert Hills, Topock, Barstow, Daggett, Fort Irwin, Baker, Mountain Pass, Mitchell Caverns, Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms, Vidal Junction, Needles, Mesquite, Overton, Moapa, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City
According to the National Weather Service, south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
In addition, the National Weather Service said gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result, as well as patchy blowing dust is possible in the strong winds prior to the rainfall, and during the rain, windblown rain may locally reduce visibility at times.
According to the National Weather Service, precautionary/preparedness actions includes use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
