Needles, California: The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station has released publicly information regarding a local man arrested in Havasu Lake, California for an assault along the 400 Block of D Street that caused serious bodily injury.

This press release comes after ZachNews received reports Wednesday morning of multiple shots being fired and police shutting down D Street near Acoma Street all happening Tuesday evening well the Needles City Council Meeting was happening.

Wednesday evening, ZachNews asked deputies as well as the new Public Information Officer Misty Hunt for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station about those reports but was told they didn’t know anything about any incident along D Street Tuesday evening or about any calls of shots being fired in that area.

At 6:10 p.m. PT on Thursday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station released a press release about occurred along the 400 block of D Street.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 at approximately 6:58 p.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 400 Block of D Street reference an assault.

Deputies arrived on scene and learned Jerimiah Ochoa assaulted the victim, then fled the scene.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, deputies located Ochoa in Havasu Landing (Havasu Lake, California). Ochoa was consequently arrested and booked into the Colorado River Station jail for PC 243(D), Battery with Serious Bodily Injury with a bail amount of $100,000.00

Ochoa remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, awaiting a court hearing.
