Colorado River Tri-State: The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. PT on Monday, October 11th, 2021 for the areas of Mohave county in Northwest Arizona, the Colorado River Valley, and Cadiz Basin which includes the Northwest Plateau-Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave-Northwest Deserts-Lake Mead National Recreation Area-Cadiz Basin-San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley.
Communities include Colorado City, Pipe Spring National Monument, Tuweep, Mt Trumbull, Western Grand Canyon, Lake Havasu City, Desert Hills, Topock, Kingman, Golden Valley, Dolan Springs, Valentine, Wikieup, Yucca, Bullhead City, Oatman, Mohave Valley, Vidal Junction, Needles, Hoover Dam, and Laughlin.
According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected, and gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects as well as tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
In addition, the National Weather Service said to be advised that dangerous boating conditions are expected on regional Lakes including Lake Mead, Mohave, and Havasu. Large waves and strong winds may swamp or capsize small craft.
According to the National Weather Service, precautionary/preparedness actions include using extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, and secure outdoor objects.
