Downtown Needles, California: Statue of Peanuts’ comic strip character Spike has a new home inside the Needles Regional Museum.

Spike is Snoopy’s brother who lives outside of Needles, California and is a character in Charles M. Schulz comic strip Peanuts with Woodstock, Snoopy, and Charlie Brown.

The life size statue of Spike was introduced to the community during the Needles Chamber of Commerce Awards and Dinner back in October 2014 thanks to business owner Joe Jones.

Spike stood on display at the Subway sandwich shop inside the shell gas station off of Needles Highway near Interstate 40 for a couple of years before moving to the Needles Regional Museum on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

You can come say hello to Spike and learn about the Peanuts’ comic strip characters and Charles M. Schulz, as well as learn about the community’s history inside the Needles Regional Museum.

Don’t forget to stop inside the Needles’ Museum Thrift Store, also known as the Community Thrift Store, where you can find a variety of different items and little knick-knacks as well as clothes, shoes, cups and dishes, books and much more, and purchases made in the store helps with the wonderful Needles Regional Museum.

The Needles Regional Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST Monday through Saturday, and Community Thrift Store open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST Monday through Saturday.

The Needles Regional Museum and Community Thrift Store is located at 929 Front Street near G Street, just across the street from Santa Fe Park.
