Highland, California: An officer involved shooting has left two officers from the San Bernardino Police Department injured and the suspect shot dead on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Michele Mahan, the shooting happened at around 3:38 p.m. PT as police officers identified a possible suspect from a shooting of a deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department that occurred on Tuesday, August 17th, 2021.

As police officers arrived, an officer involved shooting occurred when they attempted to make the arrest.

The suspect and both police officers were struck by gunfire, and both of the police officers are described as being alert and able to communicate.

At this moment, no further details about their injuries were not immediately available.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Michele Mahan, officers are still in the process of confirming if the suspect killed is indeed the same gunman who shot and wounded the deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department which authorities are calling an “ambush.”

The deputy in Tuesday’s shooting is expected to make a “full recovery” after being ambushed in a shooting at the end of a high-speed chase.

San Bernardino Police Department are asking the public to avoid the area of Baseline Street and Victoria Avenue as the department investigates.
