Breaking News: Topock, AZ: Semi truck with trailer catches fire along westbound Interstate 40 just east of Needles Mountain Road.

Topock, Arizona: Semi truck with trailer catches fire has occurred along westbound Interstate 40 just east of Needles Mountain Road.

The incident was reported 12:53 p.m. MST on Sunday, August 15th, 2021.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the right lane is blocked and traffic is heavy before the vehicle fire location.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez arrived on the scene to find multiple fire engines from Golden Shores Fire Department, Desert Hills Fire and Mohave Valley Fire Department on the scene as well as an ambulance from Golden Shores Fire Department and multiple tow trucks.

The view of the scene shows multiple fire extinguishers around a burnt tire, the back right side tires of the cab of the semi truck burnt, and some burnt marks on the muffler.

The view of the trailer shows some burnt damage to the lower back and right side of the trailer and some burnt marks to the back side of the trailer.

Fire department crew as well as towing crews are continuing to clean up, and tow the semi truck and trailer away from the scene.

Traffic continues to backup all the way to Arizona State Route 95 that connects travelers to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to the south.

Please drive with caution in the area of the vehicle fire.
