Needles, California: ZachNews has just learned from Timothy Terral that he has resigned from the Needles City Council on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021.

The former member of the Needles City Council telling ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Looez well reporting on a passing thunderstorm of his resignation for personal and business reasons.

During his time in office, Timothy got on some big topic items as a member of the Needles City Council.

In April 2019, Timothy began taking with California State Assemblywoman for the 34th District Shannon Grove along with Needles Board of Public Utilities Member Terry Campbell in trying to get the old Needles Lagoon restored.

ZachNews was there as Timothy, Terry, Shannon and near by property owners toured and discuss the old Needles Lagoon site.

During the Summer of 2019, Timothy was one of the people behind the City of Needles becoming a Second Amendment Sanctuary City.

As first reported on ZachNews, members of the Needles City Council approved in June 2019 and July 2019 to make the City of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City.

The was the first city in California to be a Second Amendment Sanctuary City which sparked wide news attention, and even sparked Mohave County Supervisors to put together and approved a Second Amendment Sanctuary County in November 2019 which also was first reported on ZachNews.

In February 2020, Timothy requested a discussion regarding a public option or public assistance in the development of a community grocery store at an upcoming Needles City Council meeting.

The community has been without a full functioning grocery store since the only grocery store, Basha, closed in 2014 followed by the 99 Cents Only Store which closed in early 2018.

Despite the community wanting a grocery store, the idea for a public option or public assisted community grocery store was turned down in March 2020 by a majority of members of the Needles City Council fearing and concerned that the City of Needles doesn’t know how to run a hospital so they can’t run a grocery store.

We wish Timothy good luck on his other adventures following his few years as a member of the Needles City Council.
