Colorado River Tri-State: The Fort Mojave Department of Emergency Response is warning the public about fireworks uses, and being responsible and considerate during the Independence Day 2021 weekend.

According to the Fort Mojave Department of Emergency Response, as the Independence Day 2021 weekend is upon us, I would like to remind everyone that fireworks on the reservation may only be used at the approved area behind the Avi Resort and Casino.

Fort Mojave Indian Tribal Police Department uses the Disorderly conduct section 343 of the FMLOC (making unreasonable noise) and Section 635 of the FMLOC (endangering the safety of another) to enforce fireworks outside of the approved area.

With the severe drought, we have already had multiple fires from people recklessly using fireworks.

Please make sure to be responsible using safe and sane fireworks; Be Responsible, Not Irresponsible About Fireworks.

Have a fun, safe and responsible Independence Day 2021 everybody.
