Yucca Grove, California: Firefighters are continuing to put out and contain a vegetation fire burning in the Mojave National Preserve just south of Interstate 15.

As of 3:58 p.m. PT on Monday, June 21st, 2021, the vegetation fire being called the “Mojave Fire” has burned 2,490 acres and is 75 percent contained.

The vegetation fire was discovered on Thursday, June 17th, 2021, and initials reports say the vegetation fire was started by lightning in the area.
