Yucca Grove, California: Firefighters are continuing to put out and contain a vegetation fire burning in the Mojave National Preserve just south of Interstate 15.

 

As of 9:44 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, the vegetation fire being called the “Mojave Fire” has burned 2,940 acres and is 50 percent contained.

The Bureau of Land Management said the cause of the vegetation fire is being called “natural.”

Initials reports on Friday, June 18th, 2021 that the vegetation fire was started by lightning in the area.
