Breaking News: Yucca Grove, CA: Vegetation fire burning in the Mojave National Preserve just south of Interstate 15.

Yucca Grove, California: Firefighters are working to put out a vegetation fire burning in the Mojave National Preserve just south of Interstate 15.

Bureau of Land Management shows on their dashboard map a fire in the mountains of the Mojave National Preserve.

Firefighters are on scene on the ground and above in aircrafts; Jumper 52 and Air Attack 52 were on scene about a few hours ago.

Weather radar has been showing Thursday night and Friday morning scattered rain passing over the high desert area near Yucca Grove, California and Essex, California.

As of 12:14 p.m. PT on Friday, June 18th, 2021, Bureau of Land Management said the vegetation fire has burned 500 acres and is 20 percent containment.

There has been no reports of this vegetation fire affecting Interstate 15 which is a heavy travel route to head towards Las Vegas, Nevada.

As of 4:00 p.m. PT on Friday, June 18th, 2021, Bureau of Land Management said the vegetation fire has burned 850 acres and still at 20 percent containment.

As of 11:02 p.m. PT on Friday, June 18th, 2021, Bureau of Land Management said the vegetation fire has burned 850 acres and still at 20 percent containment.
