Fenner, California: Crash involving two semi trucks along eastbound Interstate 40 near Water Road.
The report of the crash came into dispatch at 3:49 p.m. PT on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 just east of Water Road.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, one semi was carrying 3000 gallons of Formaldehyde solution and was leaking one gallon a minute of product into the adjacent soil.
Arriving firefighters worked to mitigate the leak and minimize the impact of the spill, and SBCoFD Haz Mat team responded to work on leak mitigation, cleanup and decontamination.
Firefighters responding to the incident include Medical Engine 53, Hazmat HZ530, and Battalion Chief 173 from San Bernardino County Fire Department as well as Medical Ambulance 31 and Engine 821 from Mohave Valley Fire Department.
As of 3:54 p.m. PT, Other semi truck driver out of vehicle and states to authorities he was okay.
As of 4:19 p.m. PT, Semi truck has rear trailer compromised full leak approximately 1.5-2 gallons, and everything contained to the right side of the roadway.
Firefighters worked to mitigate the leak and minimize the impact of the spill, and SBCoFD Haz Mat team responded to work on leak mitigation, cleanup and decontamination.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the collision was non-injury and did not cause any evacuations or hard road closures.
