Needles, California: Trash from a trash truck is on fire along Needles Highway near Ross Ranch Road.

San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32 is responding with a medical engine, water tender and a battalion chief.

Medical Engine 32 reports to dispatch that Mohave Valley Fire Department has a fire engine on scene of the trash fire.

No danger to other structures, and firefighters are able to handle the fire with crews on hand at the scene.

California Highway Patrol is being called to help with traffic control along this heavy traveled portion of Needles Highway that goes north into Laughlin, Nevada.

As of 7:32 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 tells Comm-Command full load of trash from trash truck that was dumped was on fire, and continues to burn. Trash company has called in equipment for the clean up.

Medical Engine 32 also tells Comm-Command to step up law enforcement for traffic control as northbound lane of Needles Highway is closed due to the trash fire incident.

San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 18 has been moved up to Station 32 well firefighters are at the trash fire incident.

As of 7:46 a.m. PT, California Highway Patrol has arrived on scene.

As of 7:52 a.m. PT, battalion chief 137 tells Comm-Command that he’s departing scene, and Medical Engine 32 is main port of contact on this incident.

Please drive with caution in the area, and use alternate routes such as Arizona State Route 95.
