Essex, California: Firefighters are responding to a pickup truck pulling motorhome on fire along westbound Interstate 40 just east of Kelbaker Road.
The incident was reported at 7:48 a.m. PT on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021.
Medical Engine 32 to Medical Engine 53 from the San Bernardino County Fire Department is responding to the fire.
Reports from firefighters via scanner reporting smoke visible along the interstate, and the pickup truck is fully involved in fire and the motorhome partially involved.
As of 8:43 a.m. PT, A Toe Truck towing service has been called to the scene.
As of 8:52 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 with Bureau of Land Management crews are on scene, reporting to dispatch fully involved fire, fire almost out and continue other units.
California Highway Patrol reports #2 Lane is blocked by the fire and the #1 Lane is open.
As of 9:03 a.m. PT, Medical Engine 32 telling Medical Engine 53 to continue response for water use.
Reports from California Highway Patrol that the pickup truck has burned fully to the ground.
