Breaking News: Needles, CA: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirms deceased male subject found and was identified as missing Robert Miller.

Needles, California: The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that a deceased male subject found on Monday, May 24th, 2021 was identified as missing Robert Miller.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, “at approximately 8:52 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the area of River Road and River Street in Needles regarding a deceased male subject. The male subject was identified as the missing person, Robert Miller, and the next of kin has been notified.”

The 84 year old man with various medical issues, walked away from a family residence and was reported missing on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 from the area of Beach Drive.

A search began on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 with Sheriff’s helicopter, a tracking dog initially responded to assist, search and rescue units, citizens on patrol personnel, members from the Sheriff’s marine enforcement unit, Sheriff’s aviation, and additional deputies and detectives.

Search command center and search equipment including ATVs was set up near Jack Smith Memorial Park on Sunday search efforts, but was gone and packed up back to the sheriff station on Monday, May 10th, 2021, which deputies telling ZachNews that they’ve tired out their search for Robort Miller.

Flyers continued to be posted and passed out throughout the community notifying the public of missing Robert Miller, but weeks later no signs of him until today’s official press release.

ZachNews reached out to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for more information regarding the search effects that was done for missing Robert Miller, including why was the search effects downgrade just a day after he was reported missing, and how Robert Miller was found, especially in an area where deputies said they had searched.

Unfortunately, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has not responded to our questions.
