Fox affiliate KTTV Channel 11 reports that the children’s relative, the children’s parents had been at the center of a tense custody battle.
The father’s cousin, Teri Miller, told FOX 11 News Reporter Christina Gonzalez that the children’s father, Erick Denton, had reached out to DCFS and police for help as Carrillo “needed help.”
Denton’s family claims the children’s father had obtained an emergency order, giving him custody of the children, in early March 2021 but could not get help.
Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services was one of the agencies present on Saturday during the on-scene investigations but did not give comments to the news media on the deadly stabbing.
