Ponderosa, California: Authorities say a mother was arrested on Saturday, April 10th, 2021 for the deadly stabbings of her three children inside a Reseda, California apartment after carjacking a pickup truck.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, at about 9:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, West Valley Patrol Officers responded to the 8000 block of Reseda Blvd for a radio call involving a possible death at one of the apartments.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department went inside an apartment and discovered 3 children at scene.

Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel pronounced all 3 children deceased at scene, and investigators from Robbery-Homicide Division and Juvenile Division will be conducting this investigation.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the children all appear to be under the age of 5 years old.

The Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday asked for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in this case, a female Hispanic, identified as 30 years old Liliana Carrillo.

According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Liliana Carrillo was tracked down and arrested on Saturday in Ponderosa, California after carjacking someone.

Sheriff Mike Boudreaux with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said while heading northbound on Highway 65, just north of Bakersfield, Carrillo crashed her car, and when a man pulled over in his pick-up truck in an effort to help Carrillo, she makes her way over to his truck and hops in his truck and takes off northbound on the Highway 65.

Fox affiliate KTTV Channel 11 reports that the children’s relative, the children’s parents had been at the center of a tense custody battle.

The father’s cousin, Teri Miller, told FOX 11 News Reporter Christina Gonzalez that the children’s father, Erick Denton, had reached out to DCFS and police for help as Carrillo “needed help.”

Denton’s family claims the children’s father had obtained an emergency order, giving him custody of the children, in early March 2021 but could not get help.

Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services was one of the agencies present on Saturday during the on-scene investigations but did not give comments to the news media on the deadly stabbing.

ZachNews and the community sends our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family of the three children.
