Mohave County, Arizona: The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to never leave your pet inside a non running vehicle.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, with temperatures staring to climb, we would like to take this time to remind pet owners of the dangers of leaving your pet inside your vehicle.

A quick trip into the store could be deadly for your pet.

  • Overcast days or temperatures that seem mild to humans can still pose a risk to pets.
  • Opening or cracking windows will not keep a pet from experiencing the effects of extreme heat.
  • All pets can experience heat stroke, not just ones with thick coats.
  • Parked cars become ovens quickly!

If you see a pet inside a non-running vehicle, call 9-1-1 immediately, stay with the vehicle, and stay on the line with dispatch to answer any questions they may have.
