Mohave County, Arizona: A double-stack train crashed into two vehicles on Sunday, April 4th, 2021 off South Railroad Frontage Road just east of Griffith Road killing three people.

At approximately 2:42 p.m. MST, deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office responded to the desert scene and found an intermodal freight transport train, train carrying mainly double-stack intermodal container, that had crashes into two vehicles.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that three occupants of the two vehicles died at the scene of the crash.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, “the investigation revealed that the two vehicles were stopped at the railroad crossing, waiting for a passing eastbound train at milepost crossing 528.6. Once the east bound train passed, they began to cross the intersection, not seeing that a westbound train was approaching. Both vehicles were hit by the train.”
This investigation into the crash involving an intermodal freight transport train and two vehicles continues.
