Orange, California: Office building shooting kills four people, including a child, injuring another person and and shooter in custody after being shot.

According to Lieutenant Jennifer Amat with the Orange Police Department, officers received a call about 5:30 p.m. PT of shots fired and responded to a business at 202 W. Lincoln Avenue in Orange; a two-story office complex that contains a number of small businesses.
The officers encountered gunfire when they arrived; the shooter was reportedly shooting from on the second floor of the building.
Officers opened fire, and the shooter was taken to a hospital after being taken into custody.
Law enforcement didn’t immediately know his condition during their last press conference Wednesday evening.
Local news outlets reporting bodies could be seen on the building’s second-floor walkway and in a courtyard.
Lieutenant Jennifer Amat had no details about the confrontation, what may have sparked the attack or why a child may have been at the building.
One woman was injured and is in the hospital.
As of 7:00 p.m. PT, the situation had been stabilized and there wasn’t any threat to the public.
In a tweet, California Governor Gavon Newsom tweeted, “Horrifying and heartbreaking. Our hearts are with the families impacted by this terrible tragedy tonight.”
Rep. Katie Porter, California Democrat representative for District 45 which includes Orange, tweeted, “I’m deeply saddened by reports of a mass shooting in Orange County, and I’m continuing to keep victims and their loved ones in my thoughts as we continue to learn more. My team and I will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
