Needles, California: Members of the Needles City Council unanimously voted on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 to renegotiate with the Needles Chamber of Commerce on an agreement regarding the Needles Visitor Center.
The decision to renegotiate with the Needles Chamber of Commerce during the Needles City Council Meeting held earlier tonight, and comes a week after the Needles Tourism and Visitors Center notified Needles City Manager Rick Daniels by letter that they will be withdrawing from consideration for the Needles Visitors Center for preferred vendors in establishing and managing services for the Needles Visitor Center.
During tonight’s meeting which was broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook, members of the Needles City Council discussed about the proposal the Needles Chamber of Commerce has in operation, cost and floor space layout.
There was also discussions about just building the visitor center before picking a preferred vendor, and either have the City of Needles run the visitor center or outsource who runs the visitor center like the City of Needles did with their local bus service.
At the end, members of the Needles City Council decided unanimously to renegotiate with the Chamber of Commerce in a contract agreement for the Needles Visitor Center.
The agreement will then come back later to the Needles City Council at a meeting for a possible vote.
