Diamond Bar, California: A standoff with a police pursuit suspect ends with tear gas into vehicle, a 9 year old girl exiting the vehicle, and the woman driver in the police pursuit being arrested.

The police pursuit started at around 3:24 p.m. PT on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 after the hit-and-run crash that occurred at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Walnut, California.

Reports that two people were taken to the hospital in the hit-and-run crash aftermath as deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department attempted several PIT maneuvers onto the vehicle during the police pursuit.

Unfortunately, the PIT maneuvers were unsuccessfully, and left the vehicle’s bumper hanging by a thread during the rest of the police pursuit.

The vehicle would later then side-swiped about three other vehicles while fleeing from police, before slamming into several others.

The police pursuit came to a stop after the vehicle hit a silver SUV.

The driver remained inside the vehicle for several hours in a standoff with deputies.

Deputies multiple times trying to get the suspect to come out of the vehicle.

Later, bean bags were shot into the vehicle, windows on the driver side can be seen from the helicopter with holes from those bean bag shots.

SWAT Team later arrived, and a drone was launched and seen flying in the back window of the vehicle than at the front window of the vehicle so that SWAT Team can see what is happening inside the suspect’s vehicle.

At 7:00 p.m. PT, a SWAT team armored SWAT trucks surrounded the vehicle, and later tear gas was seen being shot into the vehicle in a effort to get the driver out.

A few minutes later, a passenger was seen exiting out the vehicle, and a SWAT Team officers picked up the passenger and carried the passenger away.

Afterwards, the suspect was taken out of the vehicle by SWAT Team officers, and taken into police custody.

Lieutenant for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the passenger was a 9 year old girl that they didn’t know was inside the vehicle until the she came out of the vehicle.

Nobody knew that the child was in the car,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Todd Knight adding,”There were multiple efforts to discuss it with the suspect at the time.”

Scanner communication with law enforcement minutes before the tear gas was deployed stated that the women did have two kids; an 11 year old and a 9 year old, and that they can only accounted for the 11 year old at that point.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Todd Knight said the suspect is a 30 year old woman, and the suspect hit 5 to 6 vehicles injuring several people.
