Needles, California: A local man was arrested on Monday, March 1st, 2021 along the right shoulder of eastbound Interstate 40 after evading deputies.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez captured on camera deputies and a detective from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station arresting a man along the right shoulder of eastbound Interstate 40 just west of the bridge connecting Lillyhill Drive to D Street.

Moments before the arrest, patrol vehicles from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station were spotted responding to the 148 incident with their lights and sirens along West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Public Information Officer Jodi Miller initially told ZachNews via email,”Deputies located the suspect, Bobby Dillashaw, age 33, in the 400 block of D Street and found that he had a warrant for violation of probation. Dillashaw fled and was located and arrested at Downey and D. Street. He was booked for PC148(A)(1) Obstructing and the warrant for violation of probation.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station later released more information regarding the arrest in a public press release saying,”Deputies from the Colorado River station / Needles Police Department were conducting foot patrol in the area of Downey Ave. and D Street. Deputies contacted Bobby Dillashaw and found him to have a felony warrant for his arrest. When deputies attempted to take Dillashaw into custody he fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Dillashaw was located on the eastbound I-40 freeway and taken into custody without further incident. Dillashaw is on active Post Release Community Service and had a felony No Bail warrant for violating his terms of P.R.C.S.. Additionally, Dillashaw was charged with PC 148(a)(1) Obstruction/Resisting and booked into the Needles jail without bail.
