Needles, California: Firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32 are responding to a vehicle that has crashed into a water ditch along U.S. Route 95 near Interstate 40.
The crash initially came into dispatch at 1:31 p.m. PT on Friday, February 19th, 2021 is the area of U.S. Route 95 near Interstate 40; map location from the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page showing the U.S. Route 95 that goes to Searchlight, Nevada.
But as firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32 were responding to the location given by dispatch, they passed by a vehicle crash matching the description of the call, and after verifying the call’s location, Medical Engine 32 responded to the updated location near U.S. Route 95 near the Needles Riverview Cemetery.
ZachNews was on scene of the crash where San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32, Baker Emergency Medical Services, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station and California Highway Patrol were also on scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page, one person injured, 66 years old and x-ray, and other person x-ray and non responsive; both trapped in the vehicle that crashed into a cement ditch off the south side of the off-ramp.
As of 2:54 p.m. PT, the California Highway Patrol has confirmed to ZachNews that there is a fatality in this crash, and a second person was injured in the crash who was transported to a hospital.
No name has been releases yet until next of kin is notified, and no further information is available yet regarding the second person’s injuries.
