Mohave Valley, Arizona: The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the source of a unfounded social media rumors circulating of a potential shooting at River Valley High School on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021.
In a statement posted on their official Facebook page just a few minutes going, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said,”The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is aware of social media rumors circulating of a potential shooting at River Valley High School today in Mohave Valley. The rumor is unfounded, however deputies will continue to investigate the source of the rumor. We will have deputies on site at the school today to serve as an extra law enforcement presence. We will continue to update as more information becomes available.”
This latest rumor threat comes a month after Bullhead City Police Department investigated a threatening comment against Mohave High School in Bullhead City, Arizona back on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 that was posted onto Snapchat; which the Bullhead City Police Department later confirmed publicly that the suspect who posted the threat on social media was from out of state.
Colorado River Union High School District, which includes Mohave and River Valley High Schools, posted a shore statement on their official Facebook page guiding parents to what the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office stated earlier, and that there’ll be extra deputies on and around campus for everyone’s peace of mind.
Again, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said “rumor is unfounded,” but will be investigating today’s rumor threat, and anybody with information should contact the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
