San Bernardino County, California: The California Highway Patrol’s Needles Office has confirmed the identity of the victim in the fatal vehicle crash with a semi truck along U.S. Route 95 just south of Palm Gardens, Nevada that occurred on Friday, January 29th, 2021.
According to a press release from the California Highway Patrol’s Needles Office, “On January 29, 2021, at approximately 0930, a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Shane Lee of Wasilla, AK, was traveling southbound US-95, south of the Nevada state line. A 2020 Volvo truck and trailer combination, driven by Kirpal Singh of Calgary, Alberta Canada, was traveling northbound US-95, approaching the Chrysler. For unknown reasons, the Chrysler veered out of control as it continued southbound. The Volvo truck and trailer combination attempted to avoid a collision by moving onto the dirt shoulder to the east of the roadway. The Chrysler continued out of control and struck the Volvo head on. As a result of this crash, the driver of the Chrysler (Mr. Shane Lee) sustained fatal injuries. The weather at the time of this crash was cloudy and the roadway was dry. Intoxication is no believed to be a factor in this crash. If anyone witnessed this crash, or the events leading up to it, and have not yet spoken to CHP please call the Needles CHP office at 760-326-2000.”
