Needles, California: The Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission held a meeting inside the Needles City Council Chambers on Thursday, January 21st, 2021.

The Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission Meeting was broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook.

The City of Needles wants to remain the public that the Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission is continuing to hold meetings pursuant to the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 which suspends certain requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act.

As a result of the California’s Executive Order to “Stay-At-Home”, the City of Needles said that in person participation at the Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission meetings is not allowed at this time and the Needles City Council Chambers are not open to the public.

Discussion regarding possible activities at/on behalf of the Needles Riverview Cemetery.

Members of the Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission discussed possible activities to help the Needles Riverview Cemetery, throwing ideas of having a bake sale or adopt to decorate a tree or plant a tree; ideas to help get more funding for the Needles Riverview Cemetery which is in need of new irrigation system for the grounds as well as a new tractor among a few things mentioned.

Members of the Needles Cemetery Advisory Commission also brought up the cost of watering and up keeps on the grounds, questioning about marijuana revenue and if enough is being provided for the Needles Riverview Cemetery, and about accepting donations to help the Needles Riverview Cemetery as well as welcoming anybody who wants to help with cleaning and trimming the grounds, including mowing the lawn, removing weeds and making sure the headstones are kept clean and cleared of anything that would block view.

More discussion and what idea would be best fit to help the Needles Riverview Cemetery will be put on the next meeting’s agenda.
