Downtown Needles, California: Christmas dinners and new unwrapped toys brought joy to local families during Fire House Ministries presents Community Christmas that was held on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at Santa Fe Park and El Garces Train Depot.

Pastor James Jones with Firehouse Ministries welcomed local families waiting in lined up along Santa Fe Park as well as along the El Garces Train Depot for a few hours prior to the event to receive a free Christmas dinners which included a big frozen turkey, bag of potatoes, bread, and other fixings for a wonderful dinner, and new unwrapped toys for the kids.

Toys stacked along the floor and on tables inside the Community Hall of the El Garces Train Depot; all the new unwrapped toys for the kids that were collected from local donation boxes, including at the California Highway Patrol’s Needles Office, that were donated from the community, and were taken to the event.

During the event, H Street Patient Care and The Bud Farmacy in Needles, California gave out inside the Community Hall 100 gift certificates to Desert Hair and Nails Design for a haircut including shampoo, blowdry and style or a manicure well outside The Healing Center in Needles, California rolled up in their van loaded with new unwrapped toys for the kids.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrived to the event to take pictures with all of the good boys and girls, and even got to receive some goodies.

Overall, the event brought families with kids joy as many people in the community are struggling this year from illnesses, job losses and financial difficulties related to COVID-19.

Thanks to all of the great people who donated as well as participated and volunteered during the event.
