Needles, California: The City of Needles will administer the Oath of Office to the newly elected Needles City Mayor and Needles City Council Members during the Needles City Council, Needles Public Utility Authority and Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency Meeting starting at 6:00 p.m. PT on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 inside the Needles City Council Chambers, located at 1111 Bailey Avenue near J Street.
There will be a vote on Resolution No. 2020-83; Reciting the Fact of the General Municipal Election held on November 3, 2020, declaring the results, and such other matters as provided by law.
The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters final certified the election voting results on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020.
Afterwards, the administering the Oath of Office will be conducted.
Incumbent Needles City Mayor Jeff Williams won the Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 election in Needles, California against Sandra Queen Noble.
Voters also voted into three seats on the Needles City Council Elected Incumbent Tona Belt, Kristen Merritt and Ellen A. Campbell.
All will be seated during tonight’s Needles City Council, Needles Public Utility Authority and Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency Meeting.
There will be a presentations to outgoing Needles City Council Members Shawn Gudmundson and Louise Evans followed after the seating of Mayor and Incoming Council Members, the new members will select and vote who will be the Needles City Vice Mayor.
The City of Needles wants to remain the public that the Needles City Council is continuing to hold meetings pursuant to the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 which suspends certain requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act.
As a result of the California’s Executive Order to “Stay-At-Home”, in person participation at the Needles City Council meetings is not allowed at this time and the Needles City Council Chambers are not open to the public.
The Oath of Office along will the meeting will be broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook starting at 6:00 p.m. PT (Full Live Broadcast).
If any interruptions occur to live broadcast due to service problems, the Oath of Office and meeting will be recorded for later post on ZachNews.
