Essex, California: Semi truck and trailer overturned crash has occurred along westbound Interstate 40 just west of Essex Road.
The overturned occurred at 10:50 p.m. PT on Sunday, November 15th, 2020.
California Highway Patrol initial reported to responding units that there was two separate crashes; saying over the scanner, “a Sudan and a semi truck with trailer,” but minutes later the California Highway Patrol provided updated information saying that there’s just the semi truck with trailer incident, no Sudan found.
Medical Engine 32 from San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32 along with Medical Ambulance 31 are responding to the scene.
A Tow Truck towing service has been called to the scene for clean up and removal of the semi truck with trailer.
Motorists should drive with caution through this area.
As of 11:41 p.m. PT Sunday, Medical Ambulance 31 reports from the scene that box truck on its side with major front damage.
As of 11:43 p.m. PT Sunday, Medical Ambulance 31 reports to start media helicopter to the scene.
As of 11:44 p.m. PT Sunday, Medical Engine 32 saying to landing area for medical helicopter (Careflight) will be at the travel center near Goffs, California.
As of 11:48 p.m. PT Sunday, Dispatch informs Medical Engine 32 and Medical Ambulance 31 that Careflight 6 is responding with an ETA of 27 minutes.
As of 12:07 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Ambulance 31 is transporting the patient.
As of 12:18 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Ambulance 31 letting Medical Engine 32 know that they are 2 miles out from the location (medical helicopter landing site at travel center near Goffs, California).
As of 12:25 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Engine 32 telling Medical Ambulance 31 to remind Careflight 6 that the landing site is off Goffs Road at the travel center, not at the scene; Flight tracker shows medical helicopter over the scene.
As of 12:29 a.m. PT Monday, Dispatch telling Medical Engine 32 and Medical Ambulance 31 that Careflight 6 flow over that location off Goffs Road a few minutes ago and didn’t find anybody there so they flow over to the scene, but now Careflight 6 is saying they’re heading back to the initial landing site off Goffs Road; ETA 5 minutes.
As of 12:34 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Engine 32 reports Careflight 6 is on scene at landing site off Goffs Road.
As of 12:46 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Engine 32 reports Careflight 6 with patient, will be heading to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As of 12:52 a.m. PT Monday, Medical Engine 32 reports Careflight 6 has taken off with patient in route to Sunrise Hospital, and Medical Engine 32 along with Medical Ambulance 31 is returning back to station.
As of 1:31 a.m. PT Monday, Flightradar 24 shows Careflight 6 has arrived and landed at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada with the patient.
At this moment, there is no information on the medical condition of the patient.
