Breaking News: Needles, CA: Vegetation fire is burning along the 3200 block of Needles Highway.

Needles, California: Vegetation fire is burning along the 3200 block of Needles Highway just north of Interstate 40.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez is broadcasting live on Facebook of the vegetation fire.

Multiple fire department crews on scene, including San Bernardino County Fire Department and Mohave Valley Fire Department.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station and California Highway Patrol are also on scene helping with traffic control.

Needles Highway is closed north of Interstate 40; please use Arizona State Route 95.

Nearest residential structures is to the north of the fire off.

At this moment, no reports of damages or injuries.

Public work crews from the City of Needles are helping firefighters using construction equipment to remove vegetation as well as clear brunt vegetation.

As of 11:12 p.m. PT, Needles Highway is being reopened but there will be traffic control in the area along a single lane due to the fire.

Please be patient, use caution through the cone zone and pay attention to the deputies guiding you through the traffic control zone.

As of 12:27 a.m. PT on Saturday, little smoke being seen on and off, but no flames seen.
